Guide to Organizing Scenario Workshops to Develop Partnerships Between Researchers and Civil Society Organisations✎

The Guide to Organizing Scenario Workshops provides the basics for planning, organizing, running and reporting scenario workshops as a way to co-construct strategies and research plans, using and adapting scenario workshop methods developed in previous EU Science Shop consortium projects.
It is based on workshops developed by the EU-funded project PERARES (2010–2014), which aimed to develop partnerships between researchers and civil society organisations (CSOs). Such workshops can help meet the increasing public demand for forms of research that respond to social needs.
The guide discusses the nature of scenario workshops and provides step-by-step instructions for organising each of the three workshop types identified in the PERARES project: strategies, synergies and developments.
Specific adaptations are provided for each type (including participant selection, timing, group set-ups, thematic groups, discussions, action plans, and conclusions). The annexes contain reports (in French) from four PERARES workshops.
